DE-LOUSED IN THE COMATORIUM, THE MARS VOLTA (June 2003)

De-loused is based on a short story written by lead singer Cedric Bixler-Zavala and sound manipulation artist Jeremy Michael Ward. The album is an hour-long tale of Cerpin Taxt, a man who tries to kill himself by overdosing on a mixture of morphine and rat poison. The attempt lands him in a week-long coma during which he experiences visions of humanity and his own psyche. Upon waking, he is dissatisfied with the real world and jumps to his death.
This band is something amazing and who makes this album even more amazing is the bass player Flea from Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Listen to this, please.

FRESH FRUIT FOR ROTTING VEGETABLES, DEAD KENNEDYS (September 1980)

The debut album from a band that taught me many things.
I still believe this to be true nowadays and it's been thirty years:
"Now it is 1984, Knock knock at your front door, It’s the suede denim secret police, They have come for your uncool niece, Come quietly to the camp, You’d look nice as a drawstring lamp, Don’t you worry, it’s only a shower, For your clothes here’s a pretty flower, DIE on organic poison gas, Serpent’s egg’s already hatched, You will croak, you little clown, When you mess with President Brown"

THE HOLY BIBLE, MANIC STREET PREACHERS (August 1994)

"You're obliged to pretend respect for people and institutions you think absurd. You live attached in a cowardly fashion to moral and social conventions you despise, condemn, and know lack all foundation. It is that permanent contradiction between your ideas and desires and all the dead formalities and vain pretenses of your civilization which makes you sad, troubled and unbalanced. In that intolerable conflict you lose all joy of life and all feeling of personality, because at every moment they supress and restrain and check free play of your powers. That's the poisoned and mortal wound of the civilized world."
- Octave Mirbeau
